New Member Integration

Created by our team of expert fitness professionals, with over 50 years of combined experience,
the Joe’s Gym Member Integration Program consists of 8 targeted personal training sessions.

Each session is specifically designed to introduce new members to the variety of fitness concepts and training options unique to Joe’s Gym, while providing a safe and friendly learning environment.

Session 1:
Fitness baseline / body composition assessment
This introductory session includes a body fat and health risk assessment, girth measurements and a graphical interpretation of individual fitness baselines used to assess needs and determine fitness goals.

Session 2:
Stretching techniques and flexibility development

Members are taught to properly prepare their body for exercise using self myofacial release (foam roll) and static/active stretching techniques.

Session 3:
Cardiovascular assessment and training

The third session is comprised of a cardiovascular assessment and target heart rate zone calculation to determine appropriate training intensity and maximize calorie expenditure.

Session 4:
Strength Training I: Selectorized machines

As an introduction to weight training, session four uses machines with a predetermined arc of resistance to safely challenge an individual’s strength and endurance.  This session is ideal for members with little prior fitness experience as well as seasoned athletes focusing on proper form and technique.

Session 5:
Strength Training II:  Pulleys & free weights

Members are progressed to advanced weight training using instability and the body’s internal balance system to create a more challenging resistance workout.

Session 6:
Stability & balance assessment and training

This unique session addresses postural imbalances often overlooked in fitness training.  Assessing deficiencies early helps prevent injuries and decrease pain associated with poor posture.

Session 7:

Nutritional assessment

Using a food journal, members learn to evaluate dietary intake, determine areas in need of nutritional improvement and set long and short term goals.

Session 8:

Fitness program overview and goal setting

In this final session, members have the opportunity to ask questions, review areas of concern and determine long and short term fitness goals.
