Session 1: Fitness baseline / body composition assessment This introductory session includes a body fat and health risk assessment, girth measurements and a graphical
interpretation of individual fitness baselines used to assess needs and determine fitness goals. Session 1:
Stretching
techniques and flexibility development Members are taught to properly prepare their
body for exercise using self myofacial release (foam roll) and static/active stretching techniques. Session 2:
Cardiovascular
assessment and training The third session is comprised of a cardiovascular assessment
and target heart rate zone calculation to determine appropriate training intensity and maximize calorie expenditure. Session 2:
Strength Training I: Selectorized machines As an
introduction to weight training, session four uses machines with a predetermined arc of resistance to safely challenge an
individual’s strength and endurance. This session is ideal for members with little prior fitness
experience as well as seasoned athletes focusing on proper form and technique.
